Drawing from a deep well of art, fashion, and cultural history, I create visual identities that develop their own aesthetic solidity and an ethos that is culturally compelling while elevating the commercial objective.
Holly Harnsongkram trained as a painter and sculptor and then deployed this visual syntax and refined her eye in the fashion editorial world of W Magazine where, as Senior Market Editor, she styled celebrities and cover photography while also mediating between the magazine's editorial vision and advertisers' objectives for exposure within that world. During her tenure on the W editorial team, readership and advertiser revenues more than tripled, pushing the magazine firmly to the top of the fashion editorial publishing world.
From there she partnered as the creative arm of a multi-brand boutique that earned international recognition and a devoted following. Holly directed the creative vision of both the boutique and its advertising, crafted its publicity, and curated the merchandise and event partnerships. Her approach fused fashion with selected references from art and culture to form a highly considered visual world with genuine commercial pull. The 2,000-square-foot boutique was located in what was then a relatively unknown, unexplored area of Brooklyn, and its carefully constructed identity and offerings established it as a retail destination, with sell-through rates consistently exceeding 95%.
Two years later, she commenced work on a new menswear brand, Nom de Guerre, leading its creative and strategic direction for over nine years. As Creative Director and Brand Strategist, she developed the visual world of the flagship and the brand’s backstory, while also contributing the men’s outerwear to the first collection, which was exceptionally well received. The following year, she became Design Director and sole designer, later styling the advertising and marketing campaigns. The collection was sold at top retailers and department stores worldwide, earning premium placement and a devoted following; entire collections consistently sold through and went on back order.
After over a decade with the same parent company, Holly turned to apply her marketing skills and expand her understanding of the business side of luxury, spending a decade in private advisory roles in luxury real estate.
Having worked across both the creative and business sides of luxury with a consistent track record of results, she now applies her experience to brand strategy, bringing together visual and cultural fluency to guide market performance.
